In recent years the company has especially experienced a unique growth phase. At the headquarters in Mindelheim alone 3,600 employees are at work. Since 2007 the plant site has practically doubled in size. Floor space was expanded by about 80,000 m2. Construction of an additional hall with a floor area of 38,000 m2 will start shortly. This summer, the new administrative building – currently under construction – will be finished. Between 2007 and 2017, the company will have invested more than EUR 400 million worldwide, the majority of which has been spent in Mindelheim.
Dr. Burkhart Grob laid the foundations for this success early when he took over his father’s company in 1952. In 1968 the company moved to Mindelheim. Under the leadership of Dr. Burkhart Grob, the company grew to be one of the leading global manufacturers of manufacturing facilities for the automotive industry in the powertrain area as well as a market leader in the engine/transmission machining segment.
Today he acts as a visionary and creative director, designer and developer. With his eye for innovation as well as his diligence, discipline, reliability, perfection as well as a large measure of entrepreneurial fortitude, Dr. Burkhart Grob has made sure that his company has always grown in the right direction. For decades his entrepreneurial activities have been accompanied by extraordinary social and cultural engagement. He has been a major supporter of the city of Mindelheim and the Unterallgäu administrative district.
