"Our first exhibition in India with a booth that measured almost 100 m² was a great success. We were able to establish ourself in the Indian market and generate numerous inquiries from new customers," explains Alexander Attenberger, Head of International Sales for Universal Machining Centers.
GROB-WERKE has operated in India for over ten years and is on course for growth, especially after the opening of the new office in Hyderabad in 2011. Last year also proved to be a success. The "GROB" brand has been successfully launched in virtually all areas of the Indian mechanical engineering market, such as automotive, aerospace and mold-making, and it is a concept. The sales and service subsidiary GROB Machine Tools India has grown quickly and currently has a workforce of 35. "As the Indian mechanical engineering market is continuing to develop well and is predicted to have great potential," indicated GROB India General Manager L.J. Naidu, "we participated at the 18th IMTEX in January for the first time ever with a G350 – Generation 2 5-axis universal machining center."
GROB's appearance at the trade fair went hand in hand with the nationwide expansion of the GROB sales network in India in order to boost our presence on the Indian mechanical engineering market. Besides the system machines, ten universal machining centers were sold and delivered in 2015, all manufactured at GROB's plant in the Chinese city of Dalian: sales successes which have enabled GROB India to grow dynamically, to expand further and to increase the GROB Service Team.
