At the beginning of 2014, GROB-WERKE premiered at two events in China, the CCMT in Shanghai and the Ingersoll InDays in Dalian. At the end of February GROB-WERKE made its first appearance at the China CNC Machine Tool Fair (CCMT) demonstrating its GA550 universal machine offering the latest technology in the 5-axis range. The GA550 is part of the GA350 and GA550 Asian series, which grew out of the successful G350 and G550 universal machine range, and is produced entirely in Dalian.
In 2012, the GA series was presented for the first time at the CIMT in Peking. The CCMT, a well-known trade fair, now a supplement to the CIMT, particularly in the fields of aerospace, tool and die making as well as automotive and general mechanical engineering, offered an ideal platform to further establish the GA universal machining centers on the Chinese market. “Of course, we are happy to take advantage of the CCMT in order to expand our market penetration in the very important Shanghai region,” explained Alexander Attenberger, international Sales Director for universal machines, describing the additional advantages of GROB’s appearance at the CCMT.
Four weeks later the second GROB premiere in China took place. The Ingersoll InDays, sponsored by the German Ingersoll Werkzeuge GmbH was held for the first time in China, and GROB Dalian played an important role in its success. Following interesting presentations in the Ingersoll branch facility, more than 200 participants viewed demonstrations of machining processes using a GA350 (with cylinder head) and a GA550 (with closed impeller) in the GROB Technology and Application Center in Dalian.
“At both the CCMT in Shanghai and the InDays in Dalian, we were able to demonstrate our GA350 and GA550 to a large number of existing clients and in particular to potential customers,” Attenberger commented, pleased with the great success of both events. “In addition, our presentations in the GROB plant in Dalian demonstrated again the know-how, high quality and production depth with which we produce our GA machines here in China.” In June of this year, GROB will present to the trade audience a GA550 universal machining center at the CIMES in Beijing.
