With its third voluntary sustainability report covering the 2022 reporting period, the GROB Group publishes and describes the extensive measures with which it meets its self-imposed goal of sustainability. "Sustainability is not just an obligation for GROB," explains Christian Grob, Chairman of the Supervisory Board. "Our sustainability strategy reflects both our identity as a technology leader and as a family business." For example, GROB's strategy includes the areas of activity "Products and Innovations", "Responsibility for Employees", "Environment and Energy", "Social Commitment" and "Sustainable Supply Chains" and is based on the standards of the Global Reporting Initiative (GRI).
The focus is on reducing environmental impact and living up to the social responsibility we have set for ourselves. Against this background, production processes at GROB have been optimized, energy consumption and waste have been reduced, and the company has switched in part to renewable energies in order to make its energy supply more sustainable. "We want to be climate-neutral by 2035 at the latest," explains German Wankmiller, Chairman of the Board & CEO of GROB. "In doing so, we are currently working on defining measures and milestones to achieve, above all, short- and medium-term CO2 reductions."
Even in the social sphere, the GROB Group sees itself as having a duty in view of the many global crises and their effects, and sees itself as being called upon more than ever, both regionally and locally. In order to live up to its responsibility, GROB makes use of a whole range of action parameters. This includes creating obligatory and fair working conditions, promoting employee satisfaction and supporting charitable institutions in the region at the headquarters in Mindelheim in order to have a positive effect on social change.
At GROB, sustainability and economic efficiency go hand in hand and are important cornerstones of the corporate philosophy. A philosophy that can only be successful if it continues to be supported and lived by the employees in the same way as it has been in the past.
