Mindelheim/Hanover. The G1050 supports pallet dimensions from 800 x 800 mm to 1000 x 1250 mm, which makes it particularly ideal for machining large workpieces, such as motor components and rear axle housings for commercial vehicles or even whole axle bridges. This means that components can be machined up to an interference diameter of 1,600 mm and a height of 1,500 mm. Steeply inclined chip conveyors in the machine work area are best for chip evacuation – even for dry machining. Precision-timed tool-change alarm for tool weights up to 50 kg ensures excellent chip-to-chip times. Extremely wide guideway spacing guarantees exceptional rigidity, even when using extra-long tools of up to 850 mm.
Plenty of equipment features for great flexibility
The customer can select the right spindle for its specific needs from a large number of motor spindles developed and manufactured in-house at GROB, for the purposes of optimizing its process design. The hallmarks of GROB spindles are very short ramp-up times coupled with excellent mechanical properties and great durability. They are suited to all common cooling lubricants, giving them universal usability. GROB large-scale machining centers give customers the choice of the latest market-leading CNC control systems. Simultaneous setup with a pallet change system during workpiece machining also improves productivity. The G1050 can also be aligned to meet customer's specific requirements with the software options available from GROB.
The features that set the G1050 apart are its enormous process flexibility, robustness, cost-efficiency and longevity. Thanks to the newly developed swivel-type milling head in a 5-axle design, the G1050 is capable of changing from horizontal machining to vertical machining in seconds. This makes it perfectly suited for use in general mechanical engineering, in the aviation industry, in mold-making and in energy technology.
