Mindelheim/Stuttgart. The highlights of the trade fair will include the GROB-WERKE G350 - Generation 2 5-axis universal machining center with a Heidenhain control system (16,000 rpm spindle) and a new GROB-Pilot4M control panel, a G550 - Generation 1 5-axis universal machining center with a Siemens control system (16,000 rpm spindle) as well as the GROB PSS-R10 rotary pallet storage system. The G350 will exhibit high-performance cutting of 16MnCrS5 steel. The G550 will be used to demonstrate the automatic “interlinked mode with machine and GROB rotary pallet storage system”. Its storage system will include sample work pieces from various industries. In Stuttgart GROB will introduce its advanced “GROB-NET4Industry” software technology as an independent product.
An entire spectrum of technical innovations
The second generation of the GROB G350 5-axis universal machine features significantly improved dynamics, reduced idle and chip-to-chip time, as well as a new machine design and expanded tool magazine capacity. Thanks to intelligent repositioning of the integrated tool magazine, the machine width has been reduced from 2,450 mm to 2,000 mm, thus permitting a more compact machine footprint. A newly-developed tool changer arm optimizes the chip-to-chip time by up to 30 percent compared to its predecessor. Tool capacity is now 60 for the single and 117 slots for the double disk magazine. Due to a newly-developed double disk magazine which was not available in the first generation, tool length could also be increased by 50 percent to 550 mm.
Additional GROB machines shown by GROB trade fair partners
GROB partners are likewise displaying GROB machines. LMT Tools in hall 1, stand F52, is exhibiting a G350 - Generation 1 equipped with a Siemens control system and a 16,000 rpm spindle. Furthermore, SolidCAM GmbH in hall 4, stand C50, is presenting a G350 - Generation 2 with a Siemens control system and 18,000 rpm spindle.
GROB-WERKE continues to meet all challenges
The exhibits at AMB in Stuttgart once more prove that GROB-WERKE is especially well-equipped to meet the challenges posed by new technologies. Since GROB machinery is produced the world over using identical processes, tools and high quality standards, based on our plant network and broad machine portfolio, GROB-WERKE can respond very flexibly to specific customer requirements. The new G800 large-scale machining center can additionally address the spectrum of potential customers in the areas of commercial and construction vehicles, shipbuilding and power engineering.
